Situation Room Experience Open Houses

Sit Room - Kids

The news flashes across the screen: THE NATION IS IN CRISIS!  The tension in the room is palpable as the Secretary of State, the President’s Chief of Staff, the Secretary of Defense, and a collection of nervous aides and officials turn their gaze to you.  It’s decision time and the fate of the nation, perhaps the world, rests in your hands, what are we going to do?

This is exactly the experience the Reagan Library has available for your students beginning in the Fall of 2016.  High school students are given an important role to play in the President’s cabinet or as a member of the media in this real-life scenario based in historical facts.  Students must work together to decide policy in real time with real in-game consequences based on their decisions.

This summer we invite you to attend one of our three open houses to learn more about this brand new field trip opportunity for teachers, students, and educators in Simi Valley, Moorpark, Los Angeles, Ventura, Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Santa Clarita, and all of Southern California.

All three open houses will be at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley and are absolutely free.
