National Moment of Remembrance

With all the ceremonies and wreath laying by various government officials and organizations, what should ordinary Americans do on Memorial Day?  In May 1950 to honor all of our fallen service members, Congress, by a joint resolution, approved a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe each Memorial Day as a day for prayer for permanent peace and designating a time, 3:00 pm local time, on this day for all Americans to observe in their own way, the National Moment of  Remembrance.  A fitting tribute to the men and women who have stood in harm’s way to protect us all.  :
